Defenders: Clichy, Gallas, Toure, Sagna, Silvestre, Djourou, Eboue
Midfielders: Fabregas, Nasri, Rosicky, Denilson, Song, Ramsey, Bischoff, Eboue, Walcott, Diaby, Wilshere.
Forwards: Eduardo, Van Persie, Vela, Adebayor, Bendtner
Key: Injured, Injury Prone, Inexperienced, Versatile, Guaranteed Starter
I think the colour key shows how vulnerable to injury we are. 7 players are currently injured after Bendtner did his ankle on international duty and Van Persie has sat out Dutch training with a foot injury.
Analysis;
GK: For a keeper, Almunia is inexperienced. Before he came to Arsenal he wasn't a nailed on starter and has only just established himself as a number 1, therefore he has experience, just not a huge amount. The other two are very young and very inexperienced. Fabianski has potential though.
DF: Summer arrival Silvestre has struggled with injury recently, he is injury prone and currently injured. Though, when he is fit, he has lots of experience and is versatile. Djourou looks a great defending prospect, and can play in midfield too, he is still very young for a defender though. I think the 4 in italics are pretty safe in their starting positions.
MF: Fabregas and Nasri are nailed on starters. I don't think there's any budging them. Rosicky is a fantastic player and when fit also guaranteed to start but he is awfully injury prone and you rarely get 10 consecutive games out of him. Eboue can play pretty much anywhere and Denilson looks like Fabregas's partner for now but is inexperienced, Song is good as a defensive midfielder and we don't know alot about Bischoff, apart from that he has been injured for the majority of his career. Diaby is injury prone too. Walcott is still being played out wide despite Wenger stating he would play down the middle this season, Wilshere and Ramsey are awfully young and will probably get a few Carling Cup games and cameo's.
FW: When our strike force is fit it is the best in the league, no doubt. But, Eduardo is still out with a leg break, Van Persie is consistent but consistently injured. Adebayor has the weight of 20+ goals a season on his shoulders and thats a big expectation, Vela and Bendtner are young but look classy and are good substitutes to have!
Overall, i think the squad is class, but far to injury prone and inexperienced. Appiah is still possibly coming but he is another injury prone player. An injury to Fabregas or a defender could leave us very short.
Bischoff's recovery is on course.
Other news;
As said earlier, Bendtner has suffered an ankle injury which was originally thought of as a break, but those fears have been allayed with the news the injury isn't that serious.
Arsene Wenger has hinted that Nasri might be used in the middle at some stage...
"With us I think it is best if Samir cuts his teeth on the flanks," he said.
"That doesn't mean I will not use him in the centre. However, we are satisfied with the way things are going at present.
"He has fit perfectly into the team mould. I can only praise him for his talent and intelligence."
I think that may well be his best position, and is also class cover for Fabregas.
Leave me your thoughts on the squad here
I think thats all for today, i will be back at some stage tomorrow with any new news + developments.

I agree with your analysis.
Our strongest XI could beat any team this includes the Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man U, Chelsea,...
The problem with our squad is how thin it is. That and our lack of experience cost us the league last season. It was a shame what happened to Eduardo in February but with him and Rosicky coming back it's not all misery and gloom.
Hey I did a squad analysis on my site: http://arsenalcolumn.wordpress.com/
on September 3. I put it up on BBC 606 too! Anyway keep up the good work (though ur posts advertising ur site is getting annoying on 606.)
P.S. Do u want to do a link swap with my site? If so add yours to the side of ur site and i'll do the same.
Yes mate that would be great, il do it now.
That analysis is spot on I would say.
I love reading your stuff, if you ever need a link to copy goals from recent matches over use -http://www.101greatgoals.com/
