Wenger on the title.

Today Arsene Wenger has spoken about how he thinks the league title will pan out. He believes that just 4 games in the league will be a close call and expects it to be interesting along the way, I happen to agree, Liverpool have improved a bit but not enough to overtake us, and i dont think we have improved enough to overtake the Mancs and the Chavs. But, we will just have to wait and see. Wenger said;

“This season you will need a high number of points and you will have to be consistent, I don’t know how many we’ll need, ask me again in January then we will have a better idea.

“But you might have a surprising team coming in to challenge like Man City, Tottenham and maybe Portsmouth. It will certainly be very tight and very interesting.

“Last season, I feel we did not get enough credit for what we did. We were very close. We made 83 points in the League and I have won the title with 78 before. But the competition was very high last season and looks like it will be the same this season.”

I think we can win the league, but it depends on how Man Utd deal with the added games such as the World Club Championship and how Chelsea deal with the loss of Essien and how they cope through the tough winter months.

I dont see anybody getting near the top 4 this season, Citeh have been taken over but as shown by Real Madrid, you cannot buy the worlds best players and always get success. What did they win in the 4 years that Zidane, Raul, Beckham, Ronaldo and Figo were together? Fuck all!

That final day of the transfer window was a pure cuntorama for football.

Wenger has spoken out praising his 'unselfish' strikers after RVP gave the ball to Adebayor to score his 2nd goal, Van Persie is usually the penalty taker but it shows how well those two players get on and how good the Arsenal team spirit is;

“I like the fact that Van Persie gave him the penalty,”

“That is good for the team spirit as he had not scored before today in the League this season. In the end he got a hat-trick and that will give him the needed confidence.

“The No 1 penalty-taker is Van Persie, the No 2 is Adebayor. But they have the right to reverse it. So this decision is down to Van Persie. He gave the ball to Adebayor, who had asked him if he could take it.

“Last week, Van Persie scored two, this weekend Adebayor scored aswell. I believe this shows that the team has a collective spirit and everybody can score.”

The confidence point is a good one, Adebayor is a bit of a confidence player and that hat-trick will have him brimming with confidence. Hopefully we will see a few more strikes like the one i like to call the 'spudalator' at WHL last season.
